The Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists

This is the official website of the Alabama Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Our organization was founded in 1931, making ALANA one of the first organizations of nurse anesthetists. Today ALANA works closely with its parent organization, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, to achieve local, regional, and national goals. ALANA is governed by an eleven-member board of directors. The officers and members of this board are elected by the active members in an election that takes place during the fall, one month prior to the annual meeting that is held in Birmingham. ALANA also hosts a spring meeting that is held at the Sandestin Resort in Destin, Florida. Business meetings of the ALANA are held at both of these meetings.
